My WHY: Why Residential Structural Engineering? Part 1

As a child, I was drawn to building, puzzles, and games that challenged my mind to uncover hidden patterns.


These early passions paved the way for my career in residential structural engineering—a journey that has spanned nearly three decades and continues to bring me immense joy and purpose.


My passion for residential engineering remains unwavering. What draws me most to this field?


It's the profound impact I have on people's lives by solving the problems that allow for the joy I help create through, not just the home, but the spaces where dreams unfold.


It all began with a conversation in high school. My drafting teacher recognized my aptitude for both architecture and engineering, suggesting that studying Architectural Engineering at Cal Poly SLO would be a perfect fit for my strengths.


Intrigued by the prospect of merging creativity with technical expertise, I applied to Cal Poly and was accepted into the ARCE program.


Little did I know that this decision would set the stage for a fulfilling career centered around residential design...
